Pin Up Illustrations

The Ladies...

A quick turn around piece I did as a possible pin-up for a calendar. This is done in photoshop and took me about 10 hours to do from start to finish. Originally for a pin-up contest at http://cghub.com/ I may also submit this to Not Your Father's Pin-Ups.

Mock Cover
I did this piece for a friend who wanted me to take one of her pictures and make it into a pin up. She's from Western Australia aka OZ (as I am told), and we joke around that she looks like the Scarlet Witch. So when I saw some of the pictures she sent me, the little light bulb blinked on that I had to use her full name and do a weird spin of a cover. I love how this came out, it's 12x8.5 inches and done in photoshop.

O Snipe

Here is my entry to the 2010 Tata Gala event. These wonderful people help raise money and awareness to help support breast cancer research. For more information check out http://tatagala.org/.

O' Tweet!
This image was for an ArtOrder challenge to create a classy Dungeons & Dragons pin up for a calender. Here I chose an elf in a style after a school alum, Gil Elvgren. I wanted to capture her (no pun intended) on her first day as a huntress, caught up in her own snare. Done in watercolor.

Cherry Pie
This images started out as a ball point pen doodle in my sketchbook which I later submitted to Girls Drawing Girls. I figured that if a girl could pop out of a cake, why not out of a pie!?! Drawn in pen, rendered in Photoshop.

Sloth
Sloth is the first in a series of seven pin ups that personify the seven deadly sins. I was wondering what the grim reaper's girl friends would be and decided they would all probably be man eaters of some type. Seemed like a good subject to make into pin ups. I go back and forth on which of the seven turned out to be my favorite....I think it's Sloth. Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Gluttony
This one was fun to render. I knew I wanted her to be snacking on some chocolates, and originally she was thin, but I wound up changing her to a 'full figured' model instead. Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Envy
The hardest of the sins to portray, made even harder to pull off as a single figure. Is she keeping you away from taking the only thing she has left, or is she reaching out for more? You decide. Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Greed
I modeled this pin up after the 'sensational Sally Bowles' mostly with the hair and makeup. I added in the fox for a splash of contrast and I think it is one of the best things about this piece. (And Mr. Foxx shows up again in O' Tweet!) Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Pride
Who didn't want to be prom queen!?! (If you guessed the 'cool art kids' you're right!) I especially like the makeup on the skill in this piece. Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Lust
Lust had to be a red head of course! If you look close you can see that she's a smart girl and an advocate for safe sex. Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.

Wrath
Made sense to but out the bondage gear for this sinful pin up. No pain, no gain! Done in watercolor, colored pencils, and Photoshop.
